A transport unit or loading unit is a means of transport and describes a unit which is used to transport goods. A transport unit is, for example, a pallet, box or other vessels which can be used for transporting. In logistics, the transport unit is used primarily for planning a goods delivery and for determining quantities. Since many loading units have a uniform and standardized size, it is easy to calculate the required storage space. The most popular transport unit is a pallet and most semi-trailers can accommodate 32 conventional pallets.
