The Incoterms are voluntary rules that serve as a basis for contractual matters in trading and mean International Commercial Terms or German International Trade Terms. With the Incoterms, two contract partners can agree on a contract more quickly, as basic questions with the Incoterms are already covered. The Incoterms Transfer of Risk and all other details are constantly updated, so the respective year is behind the version. Even if the Incoterms are offered ex-works, this is not a statutory requirement and the Incotermsmust be included in the contract for it to be valid. The Incoterms are applicable throughout the international trade in goods.
