The letters CSV is about a file extension, the CSV file. CSV stands for Comma Separated Values. Files in CSV format describe the structure of a text file. Often this file is created with a spreadsheet file. If there are complex structures or additional rules within the calculation, these remain with the storage in the CSV file format. First and foremost, however, the CSV file is used to exchange data between different programs. A basic formatting is not given in the CSV file, so participating users have to agree on the formats.
